Working towards a pest-free peninsula is a challenging and expensive goal that has not yet been attempted in another rural-urban New Zealand environment. We need to fund both labour and control devices to reduce the local possum population to 1-2%, followed by full eradication in the long term.

$10 = a pack of chew cards

$20 = a safe bait station

$50 = a Timms kill trap

$200 = half a day with an indicator dog

$400 = a days work from an industry contractor
