Whitireia Park
Possums were eradicated from the 240ha Whitireia Park following an intensive possum control operation by Greater Wellington regional council in the period March 2002 to March 2003. Whitireia Park is located at the tip of the Titahi Bay peninsula, north of Porirua City, and has a mixture of grassland, bush in the gullies and steep coastal faces.
The photos below record the recovery of the vegetation, following possum eradication.
